Stains beginning with C

Campari

Campari spots can easily be washed away in warm soapy water. If the stain is old or very stubborn, you can treat it with a little alcohol, then wash it.

Carbolineum

Carbolineum stains can almost always be rubbed with petroleum. Then wash.

Cellulose lacquer

Stains of cellulose lacquer or cellulose glue can usually be tackled well with acetone. Pay attention! no acetate substances, made from an artificial fiber that absolutely can not tolerate acetone. Damage could occur.

Charcoal

Add a liberal amount of baking soda over the charcoal stain on your carpet. Then wait for about an hour.  Vacuum up the baking soda to remove some, probably the most of the charcoal stain. Pour two cups of warm water and one tablespoon of dishwashing detergent into a small bucket. Place a cloth into the bucket to get it wet. Wring it out a little and use it to sponge the charcoal stain on your carpet. The charcoal will transfer from the carpet to the cloth. Continue to sponge the stain, using clean areas of the cloth, until you can no longer see the charcoal stain on you carpet. Wet a new cloth and sponge the stain to rinse. Press firmly with a dry towel repeatedly to dry.

Chocolate

Remove a chocolate stain: The first thing to do removing a chocolat stain is blot the stain with cold water using a clean rag or dishcloth. Next, add a few drops of light-colored dish washing liquid. Mild laundry detergent or even light-colored hand soap will work too.  Blot the stain then rinse completely. If you have a tough stain you can add a couple drops of ammonia for milk chocolate or a couple drops of white vinegar for dark chocolate.  Reapply the soap, blot and rinse again. READ MORE
